SWISS First Class

SWISS First Class is simply called SWISS First, it is a fine example of Swiss style and design. In 2009, a new First Class cabin was launched with the introduction of new Airbus A330-300 aircraft on selected routes with Airbus A340-300 aircraft to keep the old product.

The fully flat seats have sleek lines and quality finishes on both the new and older products. SWISS places great emphasis on the entire flight experience from check-in, lounges and in-flight services all created to the highest standards.

A SWISS First rule exists where only 8 seats are in the First Class cabin on both Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A340-300 aircraft. This keeps it feeling like an exclusive space which can be clearly defined as a First Class cabin.

The configuration on all aircraft is 1-2-1, ideal for passengers travelling alone or if with a companion or business colleague great to have two seats together where you are not totally isolated from each other like on some new products in the market place utilising full suites.

Roger Federer has commented on the new SWISS First product:

British Airways First Class

British Airways First Class has been taken to another level following the announcement of a £100m upgrade in January 2010 to their Boeing 777 and Boeing 747 aircraft.

First Class on British Airways is simply referred to as ‘First’. It oozes British style and hospitality, a luxury product in a travel class with a strong reputation.

British Airways passengers range from top level business executives to celebrities. The First product features heavily on routes across the North Atlantic, the busiest route for premium traffic.

Qantas First Suite

Qantas has taken delivery of their first few new A380 aircraft, in conjuction with this, Qantas has also launched new products into various cabins.

In First Class on the A380, Qantas has introduced the First Suite. Providing an updated First Class product from what is featured on their 747-400 aircraft.

The new First Suite is based on providing the greatest levels of comfort and space, it has been designed by Australian designer Marc Newson.

LX Forty

Swiss International Air Lines presents LX Forty, a short promotional film directed by and featuring Marc Forster.

Marc Forster is a German-Swiss filmmaker and screenwriter. One of his latest projects was directing the 22nd James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

The voiceovers are also done my Forster, released in a variety of languages including English, French, German and Italian.

The short film was shot at Paramount Studios in collaboration with advertising agency Publicis (Zurich, Switzerland) , Ping Pong Films, Kansas City’s MK12 animation house and music producer Brian Reitzell.

The name comes about from the flight number LX40, which Marc Forster is a frequent flyer on from Zurich to Los Angeles.

Singapore Airlines Suites

In 2007 with the launch of Singapore Airlines Airbus A380, Suites were unveiled. Singapore Airlines has described this innovative product as “A Class Beyond First”.

Travellers first got to experience this exciting product on the inaugural Airbus A380 for the airline in October 2007 from Sydney to Singapore.

There are 12 Suites on the Airbus A380; up to 35-inches across, fully flat bed, sliding doors, window blinds, leather & wood finishes and a sleek 23-inch LCD screen.

The Airbus A380 currently serves: London, Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Melbourne is soon to also gain Airbus A380 services.

Singapore Airlines First Class

Singapore Airlines First Class product was launched with their Business Class product in October 2006. This is not to be mistaken for the Suites which are available on the new Airbus A380 aircraft.

The First Class product is available on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Currently on some flights this is serving: London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Milan, Barcelona, Moscow, Houston, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Seoul, Delhi, Mumbai, Sydney and Melbourne.

It will continue to be rolled out to other parts of the fleet. On 16 July 2009, Singapore Airlines announced a cabin renewel programme for the Boeing 777s, the first aircraft to go through the retrofit will be the Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The initial aircraft will fly Singapore-Sydney from 22 July 2009.
